Libby Esterle, Senior Account Executive
Libby Esterle brings more than 18 years of account management, communications and public relations experience to Rasor Marketing Communications. As a Senior Account Executive, she provides marketing and crisis communication plan development, communication audit work, key messaging, feature articles and collateral material development and media, community and public relations activities for a wide variety of clients, including The Christ Hospital Health Network, the City of Mason and Madison Wealth Management. She also regularly contributes to Rasor’s award-winning blog (Blacksmith silver award from the Public Relations Society of America, 2014). Wickedly smart and blazingly funny, Libby’s keen analytical instincts are an asset for all of our clients.
She began her career as an account executive for Expositions, Inc. in St. Paul, MN, a special events firm specializing in women and children’s expos and free public concerts. Libby then took a position as a corporate recruiter and corporate communications manager for Cotelligent, Inc., an IT consulting firm in Minneapolis, before joining Bartz Rogers & Partners as a permanent placement recruiter.
Upon relocating to Cincinnati in 1999, Libby refocused her career on communications and joined one of Cincinnati’s largest public relations agencies, where she spent five years as a senior account executive and business development lead. She moved into the nonprofit world in 2004, spending three years as the marketing and communications manager for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Southern Ohio Chapter. Prior to joining Rasor, Libby worked in the PR department at Justice & Young Marketing and Public Relations.
Libby earned a Bachelor of Arts in speech communications and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN where she graduated with honors. She is a member of the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce, serving on its Marketing Committee and frequently volunteers with her parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary in Anderson, OH.
What’s your favorite movie quote?
“You have a freak flag. You just don’t fly it.” Ben Stone (Luke Wilson) to Meredith (Sarah Jessica Parker) in The Family Stone.
When did you know you wanted to work in communications?
I knew I wanted to work in communications when I began pursuing my second major, Speech Communications, and earned straight As. This was reinforced after taking a career detour post-college, working in sales and IT recruiting and hating it (even though I was successful- that’s a sure sign you’re in the wrong business). I was fortunate to have an opportunity to refocus my career on communications when I relocated to Cincinnati and joined a PR agency.
What do you enjoy about working with clients?
I think what I enjoy most about working with clients and in an agency setting is the variety. The variety of work we provide and the variety of different personalities we interact with on a regular basis. New and fun challenges are around every corner.
